Event: 2008 National Space Symposium
There were 7,000 attendees at the 2008 National Space Symposium. Approximately 1,900 people, including 400 school children, visited the NASA booth. Visitors of note included Colorado Lt. Governor Barbara O'Brien, Marshall Space Flight Center Director Dave King, Marshall Deputy Director Robert Lightfoot, former Shuttle Program Manager Wayne Hale, and Richard Gilbrech, associate administrator for the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate, and his deputy Doug Cooke. Exploration-focused exhibits were the 1:25 Ares I cutaway, the Interactive Constellaton Experience, and the 1:100 Ares I and V model set. Kristina Hendrix coordinated the Education Day visit to the NASA booth. We handed out Exploration-focused bags for all of the students which included Ares and Orion lithographs and Constellation Program fact sheets.
