MEET THE TEAM
CloudSat Operations Director

Education:
- B.S. from Abilene Christian University, in mathematics
- M.S. from Texas A&M University, in computer science

Background:
Mr. Rokey has 20 years of operations experience at JPL and has managed the development of the mission operations and science data processing elements of the CloudSat mission since its beginning in 1999. Prior to this, Mr. Rokey has served as the Ground Systems Lead on the Advanced Projects Design Team (Team X), a board responsible for the technical evaluation of future JPL mission concepts. Mr. Rokey's past operational assignments include: mission controller for the STS-99 Space Shuttle flight of the Space Radar Topography Mission (SRTM); mission controller and software developer for the STS-68 Space Shuttle flight of the Spaceborne Imaging Radar (SIR-C); mission planner for the Mars Observer mission; mission planner and science coordinator for Magellan mission to Venus. He has supported numerous mission proposal teams (including CloudSat) and is the author of numerous referred publications on operations topics.
