Dr. Charles H. Jackman
AIM Mission Scientist, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center
Dr. Jackman has been the AIM Mission Scientist since March 2009. He has worked on both natural- and humankind-caused influences on the mesosphere and stratosphere for over 30 years. He is delighted that the research by AIM investigators using AIM observations has led to a number of breakthroughs in understanding how polar mesospheric clouds form and vary. He received a PhD in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Florida in 1978 and came to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center as a National Research Council Resident Research Associate. He became a Civil Servant in 1980 and is currently assigned to the Atmospheric Chemistry and Dynamics Laboratory.
