The first major opportunity for the astronomical community to use the SOFIA observatory is now under way. The Call for Proposals (CfP) for SOFIA Basic Science, soliciting observing programs using the mid-infrared camera FORCAST and the heterodyne spectrometer GREAT was issued April 19, 2010. The deadline for submitting proposals is July 30, 2010.
