John Keller, Deputy Project Scientist
John Keller is the Deputy Project Scientist for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Project. He is a chemist by training, having received a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Maryland in 1984. After a two-year postdoctoral position at the National Institute of Science and Technology, he joined NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center in 1986 to work on instrument development projects for solar wind measurements. Evidence of solar wind interactions with the moon's exosphere from one of these instruments led to his interest in the moon, which he has been pursuing ever since.
