LCROSS Centaur Separation occurred at 9:50 p.m. EDT (6:50 p.m. PDT), Oct. 8. The cameras were on for 18 minutes, starting 3 minutes 40 seconds after separation. The motion of the Centaur in the image is due mainly to movement of the Shepharding Spacecraft as it maintains its attitude. The Centaur is moving directly away and tumbling slightly, as expected.
