LCROSS Packing and Shipping

In January 2006, the LCROSS science payload was prepared for shipment. Specialists were brought in to clean the instrument payload of any spec of dust and to wrap it for transport. A convoy of vehicles escorted the instruments from Ames to the Northrop Grumman facility in Redondo Beach, Calif.
