Measuring Earth's Changing Ice Mass - Greenland

GRACE observations have revealed dramatic changes in Earth's ice, including major reductions in Greenland's ice mass, as shown in this animation covering the years 2003 to 2011. Greenland has been losing large amounts of water into the ocean as ice melts from its surface and glaciers discharge more ice into the sea.
