Improving Drought Prediction Models

Data on groundwater storage from GRACE are now helping monitor droughts across the United States, including the continuing severe drought in Texas. This map is a regularly issued drought monitoring product from the National Drought Mitigation Center that now includes GRACE data as one of its data sources. Blue colors indicate wetter-than-normal conditions, while yellow and red colors show drier-than-normal conditions.
