HOST PADI BOYD: Hi Curious Universe listeners! We are back and starting our new, intergalactic exploration next week.

HOST PADI BOYD: We’ve got some exciting things in store for season four. This season, we’ll take you on adventures with people who have some pretty cool jobs.

Ravi Kopparapu: I’m a planetary scientist at NASA Goddard, and I look for… life! on other planets.

Gioia Massa: I’m a project scientist in space crop production at Kennedy Space Center. So I’m a plant scientist by training.

Nils Larson

I’m a research test pilot at Armstrong Flight Research Center. I’ve been a test pilot for… whew… more than most people have been alive, probably.

HOST PADI BOYD: You’ll hear about exciting work happening all over the world.

Alexa Halford: You could hear the countdown going on outside. And all of a sudden it gets a little quiet. And then you hear the big boom, and you see the rocket taking off. It was so cool. Because the pulsating Aurora can take up a huge amount of the night sky. So you could watch this rocket going up through the type of thing we wanted to see right in front of you.

Marangelly Fuentes: To be able to predict the weather properly, it’s extremely personal. I remember calling my mother and saying, I’m sorry, I have to tell you this, but you’re going to get hit by a hurricane.

Noah Petro: I like to think of the Moon as this window into the rest of the solar system because we know more about the Moon than we know about most other objects in the solar system because we have the benefit of having been there.
