Angela Mason-Butcher is the Capabilities Manager for the Integration and Management Office in the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.

Award-winning engineer Angela Mason-Butcher is the Capabilities Manager for the Integration and Management Office (IMO) in the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD), where her responsibilities include leading capability integration efforts amongst several programs and projects in Aeronautics. These capabilities include aircraft, facilities, wind-tunnels, simulators and high-end computers.

Prior to her role as Capabilities Manager in the IMO, Mason-Butcher was Mission Manager for future spacecraft missions within the Earth Science Projects Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. She managed a combined budget of more than $1.2 billion for several missions, among them the Surface Water Ocean Topography (SWOT), 2010-19; Sentinel-6, 2017-19; Geostationary Coastal and Air Pollution Events (Geo-CAPE); Hyperspectral Infrared Imager (HyspIRI); and Aerosol-Cloud-Ecosystems (ACE) missions 2010-12, 2015-18.

She began her career as a Computer Engineer at the NASA Langley Research Center. In this role, she was responsible for significant improvements to various systems in the High-Reynolds-Number Aerodynamics Branch as well as the implementation of a new highly valued data analysis and plotting system, and the development of an Employee Mobility and Training Program within the Applied Aerodynamics Division.
