NASA TO STUDY CONCEPTS THAT COULD REVOLUTIONIZE 
SPACE-BASED OBSERVATIONS

NASA's New Millennium program has selected four concepts for further study as 
candidates for its Earth Observing 3 (EO-3) mission, technologies that could 
revolutionize space-based earth observations, according to Dr. Ghassem Asrar, 
NASA's Associate Administrator for Earth Science.

Satellite Interview Opportunities

* Live Interview Opportunity with Wright Flyer Experts 

NASA is conducting wind tunnel tests on a full-scale 
replica of the historic 1903 Wright Flyer this month 
to learn more about the plane.  Talk with Fred Culick, 
who will fly the Wright Flyer in 2003, on Wednesday, 
March 3, between 5:00 - 7:00 pm EST or Pete Zell, the 
Wright Flyer Project Manager, between 7:00-9:00 p.m. 
EST.  NASA's talent will be seated in front of the 
Wright Flyer replica in the wind tunnel.  

B-roll will be available on the NASA TV Video File at 
noon, 3:00, and 7:00 p.m. EST.  NASA TV is broadcast 
on GE-2 (C-Band satellite), transponder 9C.  In case 
of trouble during the interview, call Ames master
