WASHINGTON -- The Review of U.S. Human Space Flight Plans Committee will hold public meetings Aug. 5 and 12. The meetings are open to the public and news media representatives. No registration is required, but seating is limited to the locations' capacity.
The Aug. 5 meeting will be held from 8 a.m. to noon EDT at the Carnegie Institution, located at 1530 P St. NW in Washington. No press conference is scheduled on Aug. 5. The agenda is:
8:00 a.m. Vision for Space Exploration Background (John Marburger)
8:30 a.m. Mars Society Views on U.S. Human Space Flight (Robert Zubrin)
9:00 a.m. Science-Related Briefings:
Biological and Physical Sciences (Elizabeth Cantwell)
Earth Science (Anthony Janetos)
Astronomy and Astrophysics (Marcia Rieke)
Planetary Science (Steve Squyres)
10:30 a.m. Arianespace Briefing (Jean-Yves Le Gall)

Noon Committee adjourns
The Aug. 12 meeting will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. EDT at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center Amphitheater, located at 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW in Washington. The agenda is:

Discussion of final report
Discussion of close-out activities
NASA Television will carry both meetings live on the agency's media channel. The events may also be viewed on NASA's Web site. Following the Aug. 12 meeting, committee chairman Norman Augustine will be available to answer questions from news media for approximately 30 minutes.
