Hubble Telescope Media Teleconference Today at 4 P.M. EDT
WASHINGTON -- NASA will host a media teleconference today beginning at approximately 4 p.m. EDT*, to discuss issues recently experienced with the Hubble Space Telescope. The activation of the telescope's science instruments and resumption of observations has been suspended following two anomalies seen in systems on the telescope Thursday.
The briefing participants are:
- Jon Morse, director of the Astrophysics Division in the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington
- Art Whipple, manager of the Hubble Systems Management Office at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
To participate in the teleconference, reporters in the U.S. should call 1-888-790-1834 and use the pass code "Hubble." International reporters should call 1-630-395-0448.
Approximately one hour after the teleconference concludes, a recorded replay will be available by calling 1-800-756-9736. International callers can hear the replay by calling 1-402-998-0462.
