NASA Launches Earth Science Expert Directory for Media
WASHINGTON - NASA has launched a user-friendly Web site designed to connect media with Earth science experts from across the agency.
The new Earth Science Expert Directory contains profiles and contact information for nearly 100 NASA and NASA-funded experts in a searchable database. Reporters can search for sources by area of expertise, name, keywords, organization or location. Experts' research areas span a wide range of Earth sciences, from climate and weather to natural hazards and ecosystems.
Earth science experts included in the directory work at NASA centers throughout the United States, including NASA Headquarters, Washington; Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif.; Goddard Institute for Space Studies, New York; Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md.; Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.; Langley Research Center, Hampton, Va.; and Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Ala.
The experts have agreed to work with news media. The level and nature of each expert's previous media experience is reflected in his or her profile.
The directory is available at: http://experts.nasa.gov
