NASA Awards Construction Contract at Marshall

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - NASA has awarded a contract to GSC Construction Inc. of Augusta, Ga., to construct a replacement building at the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.

The 480-day contract begins Nov. 28, 2006, with a value of $26.3 million. It is a firm fixed-price contract.

The procurement provides for labor, equipment and materials to build a four-story office building at the Marshall Center. The building will accommodate approximately 490 people and include conference, meeting and computer rooms. The project is under the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design program.
