NASA Announces Station Spacewalk Briefing and TV Coverage

NASA will preview the next spacewalk conducted at the International Space Station during a briefing at 2 p.m. EDT, Thursday, July 27. The briefing will originate from NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston. It will be carried live on NASA TV with questions taken from media at participating NASA centers.

Expedition 13 crew members Jeff Williams and Thomas Reiter are scheduled to begin the six-hour spacewalk at 9:55 a.m. EDT, Aug. 3. NASA TV's coverage of the event will start at 9 a.m. EDT.

Beginning from the station's Quest airlock, the spacewalk will include get-ahead tasks and maintenance work on the station's truss structure to prepare for upcoming shuttle missions.

Briefing participants:

-- Dana Weigel, extravehicular activity flight director
-- Paul Boehm, Expedition 13 extravehicular activity officer
