NASA Announces Shared Services Center Ground Breaking

The NASA Shared Services Center is hosting a ground breaking ceremony at 10:30 a.m. CST, Friday, Feb. 24 on the grounds of the Stennis Space Center, Miss.

News media must arrive by 9:30 a.m. CST for check in and escort to the ceremony. To arrange news media access, contact Catriona Ladner at: (228) 813-6040, NLT 1 p.m. CST, Feb. 23.

NASA Administrator Michael Griffin, Sen. Trent Lott, Miss. Gov. Haley Barbour, NASA's Deputy Administrator Shana Dale, Shared Services Center Executive Director Richard Arbuthnot and Computer Sciences Corp. president Michael Laphen will participate.

The NASA Shared Services Center will provide agency centralized administrative processing, human resources, procurement and financial services. Computer Sciences Corporation was awarded the services provider contract. The center eventually will employ approximately 500 contractors and civil servants.
