NASA's Kennedy Space Center Closes For Hurricane Wilma

The Kennedy Space Center is closed today due to Hurricane Wilma. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is also closed.

Facilities and launch pads have been secured; the payload bay doors of NASA's three space shuttles were closed; and the New Horizons spacecraft was placed inside its protective transportation canister.

The news media codaphone will be updated with status reports at: 321/867-2525. News media may also call the public affairs desk today at the KSC Emergency Operations Center during the hurricane at: 321/867-8550/8551.

Center employees may keep up to date with hurricane and back-to-work work status at: 321/861-7900; toll free at: 866/572-4877; or on the Web at:
