NASA Announces Shuttle Return to Flight Media Update

NASA's Space Shuttle Program managers will provide the status of preparations for the Shuttle's Return to Flight mission (STS-114) during a telephone news conference at 4 p.m. EDT Friday, May 20, from Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Fla.

The teleconference follows Friday's planned fueling of Shuttle Discovery's fuel tank (External Tank-120) at the launch pad. The exact time of the teleconference is dependent on weather and real-time tanking operations.

To participate, media must contact the KSC newsroom, at: 321/867-2468, by 5 p.m. EDT May 19. Teleconference participants:

-- Bill Parsons, manager, Space Shuttle Program
-- Mike Leinbach, NASA launch director
-- Sandy Coleman, External Tank Project manager

The teleconference will be audio-streamed live on the Internet at:
