Stafford-Covey Task Group Media Briefing (Update)

The Stafford-Covey Return to Flight Task Group media teleconference on Thursday, Feb. 17, starts at 1:00 p.m. EST, not 1:30 p.m. EST as announced previously.

The media opportunity with Co-Chairman Richard Covey follows the group’s telephone public meeting, which starts at Noon EST.

News media can monitor the meeting, and participate in the media availability, via a special telephone bridge. Media should contact Shannon Bach at: 281/792-7523, no later than 10 a.m. EST, Feb. 17 for access instructions. The public meeting and media teleconference will be audio streamed live on the Web at:

http://returntoflight.org

The media teleconference will also be audio streamed live on the Web at:

The task group is co-chaired by retired Air Force Lieutenant General and former Apollo Mission Commander Thomas Stafford and Covey, a former Space Shuttle Commander. The task group is chartered to make an independent assessment of NASA's actions to implement the recommendations of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board, as they relate to the safety and operational readiness of the next Space Shuttle flight.
