NASA Selects Flight Critical Systems Technology Providers

NASA has selected five firms in response to a request for proposal for "Flight Critical Systems Research" issued on January 3, 2005.

Chosen for the multiple award are ARINC Engineering Services, LLC, Annapolis, Md.; Boeing Company, Phantom Works, Seattle; Honeywell Corporation, Minneapolis; Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, Fort Worth, Texas; and Rannoch Corporation, Alexandria, Va.

Over a five-year period, the combined maximum value for this multiple award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost plus fixed fee contract is $35 million, with a guaranteed minimum of $25,000 for each contract. On an as-needed basis, task orders for specific work will be competed among the five prime contractors.

The flight critical systems work is in four major areas: flight dynamics guidance and control; crew systems and aviation operations; reliable and robust avionics systems; and flight critical systems analysis and integration.
