EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS CALL STATION CREW

Educators and students from West Virginia, Arkansas and Pittsburgh 
will chat this week with the crew of International Space Station 
Expedition 9, Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka and NASA astronaut 
Mike Fincke. The two calls will be downlinked and broadcast on NASA 
TV. 

Tuesday, Sept. 21, 3:20 p.m. EDT: Kenna Elementary, Charlestown, W.V., 
an education partner of the National Guard Bureau, Arlington, Va. 

Wednesday, Sept. 22, 10:50 a.m. EDT: Sewickley Academy, Pittsburgh, 
hosted by the Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh 

This activity supports NASA's efforts to encourage students to study 
and possibly pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and 
mathematics. It is an integral part of NASA's Teaching from Space 
Program, which builds partnerships with the education community to 
create unique learning opportunities through the use of agency 
research and educational technology. 

The downlink airs live on the Web and on NASA TV, available in the 
continental U.S. on AMC-6, Transponder 9C, C-Band, at 72 degrees west 
longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and 
audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz. In Alaska and Hawaii, NASA TV is 
available on AMC-7, Transponder 18C, C-Band, at 137 degrees west 
longitude. The frequency is 4060.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and 
audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
