NASA Awards Services Contract to Ohio Company

NASA's Glenn Research Center (GRC), Cleveland, has awarded a new 8(a) contract to Sierra Lobo, Inc., Fremont, Ohio, to provide operations, engineering and maintenance support services for the center's research facilities and laboratories.

The contract consolidates portions of four existing contracts into an integrated contract to provide core support to Glenn's projects and programs. Under the terms of the contract, Sierra Lobo will provide services such as planning, preparing and conducting tests; operating, maintaining and repairing research facilities; and other administrative support services.

Facilities covered in this contract include: wind tunnels, engine altitude chambers, engine component facilities, space simulation chambers, zero gravity facilities, instrumentation R&D laboratories, materials and structures R&D laboratories, clean rooms and rocket test facilities located at GRC and its Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio.

The cost-plus-award-fee/award-term contract has a potential value of $313 million over a possible 10-year period, consisting of a three-year base period, followed by one two-year option and five one-year award term periods.
