NASA's Top Innovations' Publication Available

Spinoff 2004, NASA's premiere publication featuring the latest agency innovations transferred to the commercial market, is available online and in hard copy.

Finding ways to apply cutting-edge technologies to life here on Earth is one of the most important byproducts of NASA's exploration and research. NASA first developed many of the conveniences people take for granted. Spinoff highlights innovations such as a low-calorie sugar safe for diabetics and contact lenses that offer the benefits of a laser-corrective eye procedure without the need for surgery.

In addition to showcasing 51 commercialized products, Spinoff 2004 explores NASA's research and development activities contributing to making the Vision for Space Exploration a reality. The publication also covers NASA's education efforts and partnership successes. It also serves as a reference resource for the agency's commercial technology network.

Online versions of Spinoff, beginning with the 1996 issue, are available at:

For a free print copy or to order an interactive compact disc (available soon) of Spinoff, from the National Technology Transfer Center, call: 800/678-6882.
