News media representatives are invited to meet with Roy D. Bridges, Director of NASA's Langley Research Center (LaRC), Hampton, Va., on Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at 11 a.m. EST.

Bridges will discuss the new NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC). The NESC is an independent organization chartered to coordinate and conduct robust engineering testing and safety assessments to support critical NASA projects and programs.

Members of the NESC leadership team will also participate. They will discuss how work is selected and prioritized and some of the potential programs for evaluation.

Interested media should call Margarette Lynch at 757/864-6124 by 4 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13, to make arrangements for credentials and entry to LaRC. A limited number of reporters will be able to participate via telecon by advising Lynch of their affiliation.
