NASA Administrator Speaks At Earth Observation Summit

NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe will address the international Earth Observation Summit Thursday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Media should use the Department of State 23rd Street entrance. Media registration is 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. EDT. The Summit opens at 8:55 a.m. EDT. The Summit news conference is at 10:05 a.m., with media access from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. EDT.

Other speakers include: Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham; Secretary of Commerce Don Evans; Secretary of State Colin Powell; Science Advisor to the President, John Marburger; NOAA Administrator Vice Admiral Conrad Lautenbacher; Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton; White House Council on Environmental Quality Chairman James Connaughton; and Acting EPA Administrator Marianne Horinko.

Televised coverage of open sessions airs from 8:55 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT. It is available via satellite from Telstar 5, C-Band, Transponder 12, Horizontal Polarity, downlink frequency 3940 MHz, audio: 6.2/6.8.
