Orion Pathfinder Weld

JSC2012-E-093915 (13 June 2012) --- A pathfinder weld, which is basically a practice weld, is completed on the first space-bound Orion at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in Louisiana. This vehicle will undergo final outfitting and have its heat shield installed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida in preparation for Exploration Flight Test-1, which is scheduled for 2014.
