Global Exploration Roadmap
The GER begins with the International Space Station and expands human presence throughout the solar system, leading ultimately to human missions to explore the surface of Mars

Message from the Workshop Chair, Kathy Laurini
Thank you for participating in NASA’s Human Exploration Community Workshop on the Global Exploration Roadmap (GER). I feel that our main objectives for the workshop were met. We were able to widely share the details of the international mission scenarios and the contribution they each make to preparing us for missions to Mars. We discussed some good ideas which may improve the mission scenarios, continuing the effort to have technically feasible and programmatically implementable scenarios to inform the near term investments of NASA and its partners. And lastly, we discussed some ideas for using ISS to set the stage for exploration beyond.
My special thanks go to those who participated via the webcast. The questions sent in were good ones and I'm pleased that we were able to answer them all at some point during the workshop.
This workshop represented the first opportunity to engage the broader community on the GER mission scenarios. NASA and its partners participating in ISECG hope that by sharing the GER we can generate innovative ideas and solutions to the challenges ahead. I look forward to future opportunities to continue the dialog.
