Earth Month 2013
April 1, 2013

[image-62] NASA has been working to better understand and sustain our home planet. At any given moment, there is something going on from the depths of the seas to the highest layer of the stratosphere. Space Communications and Navigation's (SCaN) Space Network and Near Earth Network provide tracking and communications services to numerous missions that track a variety of different things like:

  • ocean salinity,
  • global temperatures,
  • weather and climate patterns,
  • ice cap degradation,
  • the ozone layer and
  • global aerosols.

NASA has dedicated the entire month of April to understanding the Earth, in conjunction with Earth Day on April 22.
