SBRS Team Holds Second Workshop

The Space Based Relay Study (SBRS) team completed its second Blue Team review meeting on April 2nd and 3rd at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Over 70 people from across multiple NASA centers, Headquarters, academia and other government agencies and institutions attended. The Core Team updated the Blue Team on the advancements in our understanding of the communication and navigation user needs and provided a description of the Figures of Merit that will be used to evaluate the various architecture options. Multiple presentations on possible architectures, ranging from the legacy architecture that closely resembles the current system, to an all-commercial architecture, as well as architecture options that take advantage of the latest space technology advancements. All Blue Team feedback is currently being considered and any necessary adjustments will be implemented. The next review event is scheduled for the first week of June at GSFC.
