On December 12, 2008, Exploration Systems Mission Directorate Associate Administrator Doug Cooke addressed the Space Transportation Association at their monthly luncheon. The lunch was held at the Russell Senate Office Building and in attendance were representatives from the House of Representatives, Senate and media.

Mr. Cooke used this opportunity to reflect upon his 35-year career at NASA and at the accomplishments of the past year in ESMD. He also looked ahead to what Exploration may be in 2009, and though the future cannot be predicted, he emphasized that the values of safety, teamwork, integrity and mission success will be part of everything that is done in ESMD.
