Exploration Experience Florida State Tour 2008 NASA Exploration Experience Florida Stop

Picture-perfect weather welcomed the NASA Exploration Experience during its five-day stop in Florida for the 2008 Kennedy Space Center Air & Space Show and Wannado City Children's Theme Park in Fort Lauderdale. More than 2,000 visitors stopped by the traveling exhibit for its final tour of the 2008 calendar year.

The 2008 Kennedy Space Center Air & Space Show, which took place November 8-9, 2008, attracted visitors from all over the United States as well as other countries. Individuals and families from Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, France, and Australia were able to visit the NASA Experience while attending the air show. During its stop at Wannado City in Fort Lauderdale, November 12-14, 2008, the NASA Exploration Experience hosted students from various schools in the surrounding area. Those schools included: Hebrew Academy, Imagine Charter School, Bethal School, Uxbridge Christian Academy, Liberty Magnet, Sunset Lakes Elementary, Corner Stone Co-Op, Barbara Hopkins Elementary, Miramar Elementary, and Sheridan Technical School. In addition to visiting the Experience, students were given presentations by Kennedy Space Center Education Specialists Chris Blair and Linda Scauzillo. Presentations included discussions regarding the Space Shuttle and various hands-on items (heat tiles, astronaut sleeping bags, space food, and much more.) as well as astronomy and NASA's Constellation Program.
