August 1, 2013

NASA’s Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation and the Harvard-NASA Tournament Lab - The Future Is Now: Challenge-Driven Open Innovation in the Federal Government

[image-51]This one-day invitation-only conference took place on August 19, 2013, in Washington, D.C., at Georgetown University’s Riggs Library on the 3rd Floor of the historic Healy Hall.

The purpose of this daylong session was to educate and share knowledge among Federal agencies on the use of challenge-based open innovation.  We examinined past government case studies, hosted a lessons learned panel, as well as shared legal expertise. We find it incredibly valuable for colleagues to talk about their experiences and exchange thoughts about open innovation, and enjoyed capitalizing on Harvard’s expertise to facilitate that exchange.

This no-cost conference brought together private sector practitioners, Federal government agencies, and academic researchers.
