NASA Rocket Launch Scheduled July 21
Four university developed experiments will fly July 21 on a NASA Terrier-Improved Orion suborbital sounding rocket from the agency’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
The experiments were developed by undergraduate students from the University of Colorado at Boulder, the University of Northern Colorado, the University of Wyoming and the University of Puerto Rico through a program with the Colorado Space Grant Consortium called RockSat-X.
Based on the approved range schedule, the rocket is set for launch between 7 and 10 a.m. EDT. The backup launch day is July 22. The rockets will be visible in the Wallops area.
The NASA Visitor Center will open at 6:00 a.m. on launch day for viewing the launch.
