DEADLINE NEARS FOR NASA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

NASA is now accepting online-only applications for a new scholarship program, MUST: Motivating Undergraduates in Science & Technology Program.

MUST aims to interest minority undergraduate students to enter science and technology fields of study, with the goal of beefing up America's science, mathematics, engineering and technology workforce.

The program offers one-year, competitive scholarships to underrepresented or minority freshmen, sophomores, juniors and transfer students. The scholarship will provide up to half of tuition and fees, not to exceed $10,000 per academic year. It also provides a stipend to participate in an internship at a NASA facility. The project will help participants establish mentoring relationships, and will provide tutoring to help support the student's academic program.

Final deadline to apply for scholarships under the MUST program is Aug. 19. Applicants will be required to submit an essay, a letter of recommendation and resume online.

MUST scholarship applications are available online at http://scholarships.hispanicfund.org/applications/
