NASA HELPS LOUISIANA STUDENTS COMPETE IN FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION

March 9, 2005



From left, Marion Abramson High School FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics team mentors Hugo Salom, Dawn Davis, Travis Smith and robotics team member Samantha Chantharong make adjustments to the robot they built for the FIRST Robotics Peachtree regional competition in Duluth, Ga., March 3-5. Davis, a NASA Stennis Space Center engineer, and other mentors worked with students to build a robot to complete competition challenges. Students from Abramson, O. Perry Walker High School, John F. Kennedy High School and the New Orleans Center for Science and Math represented New Orleans in the competition.
