NASA's Marshall Center Small Business Alliance to Meet, Present Annual Business Awards Sept. 20; Huntsville-area Media Invited
 
 
What: On Sept. 20, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will host a semiannual Small Business Alliance meeting at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration in Huntsville. More than 400 representatives of large and small business prime contractors, subcontractors and NASA organizations are expected to participate. The event will include the Marshall Small Business Office's annual Industry & Advocates Awards, honoring aerospace leaders who have demonstrated sustained support for the work of the Marshall Center and for NASA's mission of exploration and discovery.

Members of the news media are invited to attend.

Sponsored by the Marshall Center's Office of Procurement and Small Business Office, the Small Business Alliance was established in 2007 to help small businesses pursue NASA procurement and subcontracting opportunities.

Who: Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle will welcome participants. Speakers from the Marshall Center will include Todd May, manager of the Space Launch System Program; Kim Whitson, director of the Office of Procurement; Teresa Vanhooser, director of the Flight Programs & Partnerships Office; Terry Taylor, assistant manager and technology transfer lead in the Technology Development & Transfer Office; and small business specialist David Brock.
