NASA's Marshall Center to Hear Disabled Educator Glenn McIntyre Speak Oct. 4, Commemorating Disability Employment Awareness Month

What: Disabled motivational speaker and educator Glenn McIntyre, accompanied by his service dog "Boylan," will address employees at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., Oct. 4, on the subject of hiring people with disabilities, and recognizing the abilities and dedication they bring to the American workforce.

McIntyre, a former California police officer, will speak about his own experiences and, with the help of his Black Labrador assistant, demonstrate how service dogs accommodate their masters' needs, and fit into a busy work environment. The event launches the Marshall Center's recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Who: McIntyre is a trainer, speaker and founder of his own consulting company, McIntyre & Associates of Camarillo, Calif. He and his service dog Boylan travel across the country sharing their information program with NASA, the U.S. military, other federal government agencies and leading industry firms.

When: 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 4

To Attend: News media interested in covering the event should contact Betty Humphery in the Marshall Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than Wednesday, Oct. 3. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
