NASA Awards Communications Support Services Contract in Alabama

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Schafer Corporation has been awarded a contract by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center to provide communications services support at the center.
The contract begins on April 1, 2007, with a one-year base period, followed by four one-year options that may be exercised at NASA's discretion. The contract type is cost-plus incentive fee mission services with an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) portion. The value of the mission services is approximately $36 million and the potential IDIQ value is $16 million. This effort represents a consolidation of two existing contracts to more effectively leverage resources and reduce costs.
Schafer Corporation, Huntsville, Ala., will support the center in implementing and maintaining a communications capability that integrates and aligns the center's communications plans and activities with agency direction and Marshall mission assignments. The contract will enable informed communications activities and manage effective stakeholder relationships for advancement of NASA's goals.
Schafer Corporation will perform communication services for the center in the areas of media, public outreach, community and regional relations, center leadership communications, and employee communications.
