Former Astronaut Walter Schirra to Visit Marshall Center Aug. 26

Former Astronaut Walter M. Schirra will visit with employees at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. He will discuss his pioneering space missions and present a video about his pioneering space career.
Schirra is the only one of the three living Mercury astronauts who flew in all three of the nation's pioneering space programs -- Mercury, Gemini and Apollo.
Following the presentation, Schirra will sign copies of the recently published "The REAL Space Cowboys," which he-co-authored with Ed Buckbee, a former NASA public affairs officer and the first executive director of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville. The book highlights the Mercury astronauts and their contribution to America's space program.
