NASA Delays June 23 Test of Solid Rocket Motor in Utah

NASA’s Space Shuttle program has rescheduled the June 23 test in Utah of its first Production Rate Motor until after Space Shuttle Discovery has returned to flight. When rescheduled, the full-scale Reusable Solid Rocket Motor will be tested at the facilities of ATK Thiokol Inc., an Alliant Techsystems company, in Promontory, Utah. The launch window for Discovery's mission STS-114 to the International Space Station is July 13-31.
