Local High School Engineering Teams to Give News Media Sneak Preview of 'First' Competition Robots Feb. 10

Six Huntsville-area high school engineering teams will give news media a preview of robots they designed and built for "Triple Play," a national robotics contest sponsored by the national organization "FIRST" -- For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. The student teams are sponsored by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville and by local industry.

Sttudents who will demonstrate their robots to the media are from New Century Technology High School and Madison County Career Academy in Huntsville; Guntersville High School in Guntersville, Ala.; and Austin High School in Decatur, Ala., all from teams sponsored by the Marshall Center. Also participating will be students from Lincoln County High School in Fayetteville, Tenn.; and Limestone County Technical Career Center in Athens, Ala.
