Space Station Expedition 9 Crew Member Michael Fincke to Visit Marshall Center Jan. 18

What: International Space Station science officer and flight engineer Michael Fincke will visit NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., Tuesday, Jan. 18. On his first flight into space, Fincke spent 187 days aboard the Station and performed four spacewalks outside the orbiting laboratory. Expedition 9 -- the ninth research mission to the Station -- began in April 2004 and ended in October 2004.

Who: Michael Fincke, Expedition 9 Space Station science officer and flight engineer

When: Tuesday, Jan. 18
9:40–10 a.m. -- Fincke will be available for news media interviews in the Payload Operations Center
12:30–1:30 p.m. -- Fincke will show a video and talk about his mission in Morris Auditorium

Where: News media should check in at Bldg. 4200 at the lobby security desk

To attend: News media interested in covering the event should contact the Marshall Media Relations Department at (256) 544-0034. Media must report to Gate 1, Martin Road exit at South Memorial Parkway. Vehicles are subject to security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
