Doing business with NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will be the focus of the North Alabama NASA Marshall Center Business Forum, set for Sept. 20 in Huntsville .

The one-day workshop at the Von Braun Center's North Hall will feature representatives from the Marshall Center discussing upcoming contract opportunities. Also on the agenda is an overview of Marshall's recent organizational realignment, as well as the Vision for Space Exploration — NASA's long-range plan to return a human presence to the Moon and explore the solar system beyond.

Hosting the event are the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Alabama Regional Small Business Development Council. The forum will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is open to the public. Registration for Chamber members is $70 per person, which includes continental breakfast and lunch; non-Chamber member registration is $80 and also includes breakfast and lunch.

"Having a strong working relationship with the business community is essential for NASA to fulfill its mission of space exploration," said Marshall Center Director David King. "NASA's business partnerships allow the agency and the Marshall Center to continue achieving our exploration goals and position us to carry out our long-range plans for deep space missions."

Representatives of prime contractors that do business with the Marshall Center will conduct training programs at the forum, and deliver a presentation on "Marketing to the Primes." Contractors participating in the workshop include Accenture Inc., ATK Thiokol Propulsion, BAE Systems, EG&G, Jacobs/Sverdrup Technology, Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., Science Applications International Corp., Teledyne Brown Engineering, The Boeing Company and United Technologies Corp.
