What: NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Wednesday, May 26. NASA employees, U.S. Army personnel and on-site federal and military contractors will gather to enjoy cultural dancing, sample traditional cuisine from nearly a dozen Asian Pacific nations, and listen to guest speaker Samuel Mok, chief financial officer of the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington.
This year's event is jointly organized by the Marshall Center, the U.S. Army at Redstone Arsenal, the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and the Federal Asian Pacific American Council of Alabama.
Who: Samuel Mok, chief financial officer of the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, will speak about "Cultural Diversity in Space Exploration."
When: Wednesday, May 26, 11 a.m. — noon CDT
Where: Activities Center, Bldg. 4316, Marshall Center
To attend: News media interested in covering the event should contact the Marshall Media Relations Department at (256) 544-0034 within 48 hours of visit to coordinate with security. If you cannot meet that requirement, call us and we can meet you at the gate on the morning of the event. Media must report to Gate 1, Martin Road exit at South Memorial Parkway. Vehicles are subject to security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Media must report to Bldg. 4200 for badging by 10:30 a.m. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
