NASA's Assistant Administrator for Public Affairs will visit Langston Magnet Elementary School in Hot Springs, Ark., a NASA Explorer School, on April 7 to share the new vision for space exploration with the next generation of explorers.

When: Wednesday, April 7, 9 a.m. CDT

Who: Glenn Mahone, NASA Assistant Administrator for Public Affairs

Where: Langston Magnet Elementary School 120 Chestnut St., Hot Springs, Ark.

"Right now, tomorrow's space explorers are seated in America's classrooms — asking questions, solving problems and conducting experiments," Mahone said. “As NASA carries out the Vision for Space Exploration, we remain committed to working closely with our schools, fostering learning environments that will stimulate these future travelers to the Moon, to Mars and beyond."

During his visit, Mahone will talk with students about our destiny as explorers, NASA's stepping-stone approach to exploring Earth, the Moon, Mars and beyond, how space impacts our lives, and how people and machines rely on each other in space.

Members of the news media are invited to cover the entire visit, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on April 7. A media availability will be held on site at 10 a.m.
