Local technology executive Carolyn Griner to help mark National Women's History Month at NASA's Marshall Center Tuesday

What: In recognition of National Women's History Month, Carolyn Griner, executive at the technology consulting firm of Booz Allen Hamilton and a former deputy director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will speak at Marshall's annual women's history celebration Tuesday. During this year's event — themed "Women Inspiring Hope and Possibility" — Griner will share her professional experiences in public and private service, and her thoughts on the advancement of women during the past three decades.

National Women's History Month, first recognized by a 1987 congressional resolution, celebrates women's contributions throughout U.S. history each March, with events hosted by schools, businesses and government agencies across the country.

Who: Carolyn Griner, executive at Booz Allen Hamilton and a former Marshall Center deputy director. Griner retired from NASA in 2001 after 36 years.

When: Tuesday, March 16, 9 a.m. CST

Media must report to Gate 9, Rideout Road/Research Park Blvd. exit on Interstate-565. Vehicles are subject to security search at the gate, and news media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance. Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
