NASA Marshall Center sets half-million-dollar Combined Federal Campaign target; kickoff for drive is Tuesday

Linda Spalla, chairperson of the board of directors of United Way of Madison County, Ala., will deliver the keynote address at the Marshall Center's kickoff of its 2003 Combined Federal Campaign Tuesday at 10 a.m. The campaign raises money for charities and agencies in Huntsville and surrounding areas.


Who: Linda Spalla, chairperson of the board of directors of United Way of Madison County, Ala., will deliver the keynote address at the kickoff of the 2003 Combined Federal Campaign at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. Spalla, an Anniston, Ala., native, is the author of the recently published book "Leading Ladies: 30 Tips for Dynamic Female Leadership." Spalla will be joined by Soft Note Combo, a Latin musical band comprised of Marshall employees.

What: The annual Combined Federal Campaign at local federal agencies, including the Marshall Center, raises money for charities and agencies in Huntsville and surrounding areas. This year’s campaign theme at Marshall is “You Are Not Alone." The Marshall Center's fundraising goal is $500,000. Last year, Marshall team members contributed 31 percent of the $1.6 million raised by participating federal agencies in the area.

Marshall's CFC kickoff event will include an agency fair, featuring more than 50 local charitable organizations that will benefit from this year's campaign.

When: Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003

  • Agency Fair: 1-3:30 p.m. CDT

Visitor parking is available in front of Bldg. 4200 on the southwest side.
