Seen here is the Pegaus barge at Conrad Shipyard near Morgan City, Louisiana. NASA astronaut Steve Bowen and NASA representatives were on hand to thank Conrad employees for their work to renovate the barge which is near completion. Pegasus was used to carry the Space Shuttle external tanks. Conrad has made modifications to the barge so that it can carry the large core stage of the Space Launch System, NASA¹s new heavy-lift rocket that will carry future explorers to deep space.
